The Current Issue affecting audio engineers in the very near future is the contentious issue of 'whitespace'. It is a hot issue and should be followed by all with interest.

We have recently updated the Forum. Now, instead of creating yet another 'Audio' forum, we have started a forum group " Audio Forums - the best...." where you can add a new thread of your favourite audio forum, providing a link to the forum. We also have included Education and Training, Online Magazine and Whitespace groups.

The Employment pages are steadily growing with a vast array of links to wesbites offering jobs.

At the Newsfeed page there is frequently updated content from blog entries, news headlines and podcasts
relating to Pro Audio.

Contact us if you have suitable content for this website. We accept media releases, job vacancies, classifieds, online shopping products and more in the very near future. You can email the information to us in raw text as part of an email or in .doc or .pdf format.

Whitespace

The biggest issue affecting the live sound, broadcast and theatre industry in Australia the coming years will be the allocation of radio frequencies. We are following these proceedings very carefully and you should too....

The FCC in the USA has made a decision that will create ripples in our own industry in the very near future. There is not a united fromt in Australia tackling the issue as it affects us, so we will endevour to keep you up to date and provide a vehicle to voice your concerns.

Sennheiser and Shure in the USA were leading the push to prevent the spectrum being over-run with unlicensed mobile devices clogging the airwaves. In an already congested spectrum, tests have been undertaken by the FCC in the USA and dependant on who you talk to the results were inconclusive, unworkable at best. Google is the main force driving the agenda to "free the airwaves" and they were successful in lobbying the FCC. This will happen in Australia!!

Shure have produced a series of reports detailing the latest developments about the FCC "White Spaces" and Shure's efforts on Capitol Hill. Stay tuned for more developments in future episodes. Go to the SHURE CAST:
